Workshop on the Licensing of Spatial Data of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Held

The Working Group of the SDI Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) for Licensing Conditions, in cooperation with the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FGA), organized a workshop on the licensing of spatial data on 14 July 2026. The workshop was intended for all SDI FBiH stakeholders responsible for the management and maintenance of spatial data.

The workshop was held in a hybrid format. Most participants attended in person at the premises of the FGA, while a number of registered participants joined online via the Webex platform. A total of 26 representatives of SDI FBiH stakeholders participated in the workshop.

The following topics were covered during the workshop:

1. Introduction to the Licensing of Spatial Data in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Dr Mirza Ponjavić
2. Decision on the General Conditions for Licensing Spatial Data of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Mr Semir Huremović
3. Licensing Framework for the SDI FBiH – Types of Licences – Dr Jasmin Taletović
4. Licence Metadata – Requirements – Mr Rešad Zorlak
5. Examples of the Implementation of the Licensing Framework at the FGA and the Institute for Planning – Mr Amel Žilić

Following the presentations, a discussion session was held during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange views on the practical implementation of the spatial data licensing framework within their respective institutions.

The workshop represents a continuation of the SDI FBiH activities aimed at establishing harmonized rules and standards for the sharing and use of spatial data across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the INSPIRE principles.

The FGA would like to thank all participants for their active contribution and remains committed to further cooperation with SDI FBiH stakeholders on issues related to spatial data licensing and management.
