The Web GIS application is a browser-based tool that displays spatial data based on previously established web services and a series of other software components. The primary goal of establishing the Web GIS viewer of the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) FBiH is to ensure easier access and use of standardized spatial data held by SDI stakeholders. The Web GIS viewer represents the foundation of the SDI FBiH, where users have access to all available spatial data sets and subsets.

By using the Metadata Catalog, users can obtain additional information about the data of interest that are visualized on the Web GIS viewer. All data existing in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon be available on the Web GIS viewer. Spatial data at the Federation level will be harmonized with the INSPIRE standards of the European Union, visualized on the viewer, made available to the wider public for inspection, and described with metadata.
