The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs performs the tasks of the SDI Coordination Body and, within the framework of the activities defined by the Law on SDI, takes care of the execution of the Law, communicates with other bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and international bodies, performs technical and administrative tasks for the needs of the work of the SDI Council, coordination of all SDI bodies and entities and support for the entire SDI establishment process. The coordinating body of the SDI in FBiH is obliged to continuously monitor the development of spatial data infrastructure in accordance with domestic and international regulations and standards. Within the framework of the activities defined by the Law on SDI, among other things, it communicates with other bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and international bodies and organizes trainings or workshops to build the capacity of the SDI entity and raise awareness of the importance of SDI.

It is important to note that the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs has a dual role in the SDI. In addition to acting as the Coordination Body in the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive, it is also a subject of the SDI.
