Strategy for SDI
The Spatial Data Infrastructure Strategy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDI FBiH) for the period 2023–2027 represents a strategic framework for the development, improvement, and coordination of spatial data management in the Federation of BiH. The document was adopted by the Government of the Federation of BiH on October 4, 2023, and confirmed by decisions of both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH. The Strategy defines key objectives and activities aimed at improving the availability, interoperability, and efficient use of spatial data, in line with modern digital standards and relevant EU directives.
The Law on the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDI FBiH) entered into force on July 24, 2021, following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH (No. 55/21). This law regulates the establishment, maintenance, and development of the IPP FBiH, as well as the responsibilities of institutions involved in the management and coordination of spatial data.
LEGAL FRAMEWORK OF SDI
IMPLEMENTING RULES
Based on the Law on the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of SDI FBiH has adopted a series of implementing rules that further regulate the functioning and development of SDI FBiH. These rules relate to various segments of the spatial data infrastructure, including registers, metadata, as well as network services of SDI FBiH.

The guidelines provide an overview of how to properly and thoroughly complete the SDI Registers application and the SDI Metadata Catalog, including steps for data entry and maintenance.
