The Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will enable everyone to easily, quickly, and efficiently find and use harmonized spatial data, thus creating a geo-enabled society.
The primary group of producers and users of spatial data available through the SDI FBiH consists of spatial data and services experts, but those who are not experts must not be neglected. Based on this, the SDI should be accessible to everyone. This includes institutions, companies, as well as citizens and anyone interested in harmonized spatial data and its utilization. A geo-enabled society implies the knowledge necessary for the proper interpretation and drawing conclusions based on spatial data.

To establish an effective Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that ensures access, exchange, and utilization of spatial data and services to all SDI bodies, the public and private sectors, the academic community, and citizens.
Through the mission, it is necessary to ensure easy access to and utilization of spatial data and services for all interested parties, particularly the public sector and the economy, in order to create new products and added value, as well as innovations that will contribute to the progress of society as a whole and sustainable development. A geo-aware and geo-enabled society will be able to face the challenges of the future and build coexistence with nature in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
